I was at Cedar Lake Lodge during the last week of August 2009 for our first Canadian fishing trip. Al and his crew are top knotch. Dean and Renee are seasoned fishing camp workers and very helpful. Dean always had information to get us on the fish. We caught fish every day and caught so many one day we quit fishing early. Cedar Lake Lodge is very comfortable and a great value for our hard earned dollars. I dont think you would find a better value for the money. You would be hard pressed to find a better experience in another drive in or fly in outfitter. The cabins are very functional and comfortable. The equipment is in good shape and the boat motors start on the first pull. We were so impressed with Al and Cedar Lake Lodge that we booked for August 2010 and cant wait to get back and catch more fish.

Its' been several weeks now since my brother and I were at your lodge. I've been meaning to get a huge thank you off to you, Kim and the staff earlier but, as you might expect, life's issues kept getting in the way in delaying the letter. This was our first time at your camp, and quite frankly, we were somewhat hesitant about doing it, but upon our arrival we quickly realized what you articulate on your website and in your brochure is exactly what it is – thanks for your honesty. I want to tell you how appreciative we were of your genuine hospitality and the relaxed low-pressured and helpful way that you and your staff operate the camp. We've fished nearly a dozen different Canadian lodges and we can truly say that you have the best casual, easy going and friendliest atmosphere of them all. To many lodge owners entice you to come to their camp by emphasizing all the great things about their lodge and fishing. But when you get there you're quickly disappointed in the camp with boat restrictions or other limitations and questionable fishing quality - At Cedar Lake Lodge this was definitely not the case. Our fishing experience was all that you said it would be. Beyond catching some pike and walleye we "figure eighted" several huge muskies, me losing a big fish and ending the trip with a smaller one. But the real story of the entire trip was my brother catching his first 50 plus incher. WOW! His excitement - an experience he'll never forget. Nor will he let me forget. To sum-up, many things go into a successful fishing venture, but we feel that you, Kim, the staff and the entire Cedar Lake Lodge experience combined gave us one of or best fishing trips ever. Thanks for your part in making it happen. We're already talking about and looking forward to returning in 2010.

Was up at Cedar Lake Lodge from May 29th thru the June 5th. Great fishing. Brought my brother up for the first time and he lands a 32+ in walleye on Cedar lake in about 15 FOW on a minnow and firetiger jig. We had a great time and most of the fish we caught were between 17 and 22 inches. We did also manage at least 15 fish between 23 and 25, all these wonderful fish were released to play again. If you check out the Cedar Lake site there might be a picture of it. Fought through some cool damp weather , but it was well worth it. With a little info from Al and the head tender Dean, we were steared in the right direction. I will never bring my brother back again, until I return and get my 34 incher. In the week we were there we caught about 300 + fish and the averge was about 3lbs. We stopped using the net on 18 and 19 inchers. Also gulp mellon minnows worked and white power bait twister tails when the sun peaked through the clouds. What a great trip will be going back.
