Cobblestone Lodge offers fishermen a unique fishing experience. Lakes are cold spring fed arctic waters insuring our guests excellent fishing spring, summer or fall. With 7 lakes, you’ll fish 5 or 6and return to your favorites. Variety insures the fishery and gives you the quiet relaxing trip you came to Canada for. Drive 15 to 45 minutes on a scenic gravel road and you’ll find the boats and motors ready to go. With remote lakes you’re catching more fish within a short boat ride which gives you more time fishing and less time boating or trying to find fish.

7 Remote lakes to choose from

At Cobblestone Lodge you have 7 Remote Lakes to choose from for your fishing depending on time of year, weather conditions and fish habits. Because of that you can always find good fishing. Each lake has two boats that are allowed by the M.N.R. to be left there in order to control fishing pressure. Boats and 9.9 hp. motors are stored at each lake on wood cribs with rollers and a winch for ease of handling. Each day you are with us you will be provided with gas for your boat and a map of the lake in which you will be fishing. Cliff will mark some of the hot spots & give you some tips on how the fish are biting. Having a number of natural shoreline lakes with no portages and most important boats and motors are set up on wood cribs with rollers and a winch for ease of handling. The drive to the lakes is an experience in itself. Our guests have reported sightings of Moose, Bear, Eagles, Martens, Wolves, Lynx, Beavers and much more to add to your memories at Cobblestone Lodge.

Hunting at Cobblestone Lodge

Come to our lodge for one of the best Black Bear hunting in Northern Ontario. Our bear management unit consists of about 436 sq. kilometers with miles of access roads, some of which have been recently opened to areas that were not accessible in the past. Since 1991 we have limited our hunters, which has insured our hunters great success. The baits are set 3 to 4 weeks before the hunts begin in order to establish consistent hits. We use a variety of baits, such as beef scraps, bread sweets, grease and a number of different scent attractors. The bait is placed in a bait box that is then covered with logs and a large rock to keep smaller animals out. Each hunter is placed on a bait which has not been hunted or disturbed in order to insure greater success.

We supply tree stands and have them in place before you arrive for less disturbance before the hunt, as well as providing you with transportation to and from your bait site. Whether you hunt with bow or rifle, the stands are placed to insure the best possible success. Bow stands will be placed approximately 15 to 20 yards from baits and rifle stands, 60 to 80 yards depending on terrain.
