Dinorwic Lake

We are located on Dinorwic Lake, which is over 18,000 acres of island-studded water. Dinorwic Lake is also part of a chain of lakes including Wabigoon Lake and the Wabigoon River, which gives you 50,000 acres or water stuffed with trophy gamefish.

Accommodations

Pine Sunset Lodge has 10 comfortable cabins under housekeeping package. These cabins sleep between 2 and 14 guests. All our cabins are clean, furnished and fully equipped for our guests. We have good sturdy docks for your boat including our new 80-foot floating dock. Camping for tents, trailers, RVs and large 5th wheels are available as well as amenities such as water, electricity, shower-house and a gray-water dumping station.

Fishing

Fishing on Dinorwic Lake is great for Walleye, Northern Pike, Muskie, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie and Yellow Perch. The Chain of Lakes around Pine Sunset Lodge have been rated #1 in the world for combined Muskie and Walleye fishing. Large numbers of Walleye including Walleyes over 12 pounds are available. Muskie over 50-inches are caught and released all summer. Northern Pike are common in the 30 to 40-inch range with some reaching close to 50 inches. Smallmouth Bass reach 6 pounds and occasionally bigger. We also have boat caches on several lakes with outstanding Lake Trout fishing. Lake Trout up to 10 pounds are available. Perch are available in unbelievable numbers and the Crappie fishing is getting better every year.

Hunting

We offer one of the best Black Bear hunts in Ontario. Our customers enjoy a 100% success rate in our massive Bear Management Area (BMA). Black Bears average 300 pounds in our area with the occasional monster that reaches 600 pounds. We have 2 Bull Moose tags & 1 Cow Moose tag for WMU 15A and 1 Bull Moose tag for WMU 5. Moose in our area reach over 1300 pounds and our Moose hunting guests enjoy an extremely high success rate. The Dinorwic and Dryden areas have become legendary for Whitetail Deer Hunting and have become known as the Whitetail Triangle. Our Whitetail Bucks are huge with impressive racks. We have unguided hunts and fully guided Whitetail Deer hunts on private land with an unusually high success rate. Grouse, Duck, Goose and other small game hunting are also available.

We are located on Dinorwic Lake, 18 miles east of Dryden, Ontario, on Highway 17 at Dinorwic. Look for the Pine Sunset Lodge sign and we’re located ¾ of a mile down Robertson Road.

The Lake

Dinorwic Lake is over 18,000 acres of island studded water, stretching over 20 miles in length.

Our camp sets on a peninsula with 3 1/2 miles of shoreline and 115 acres to explore.

For the adventurous we also have boats on 6 cache Lakes for Lake Trout, Walleye, Northern Pike and Muskie. We can also arrange for a one day fly in trip to a remote lake.

The cabins were very nice and clean, and we totally enjoyed the whole trip!!!!

We both are thinking about getting our bears done in a full body mounts.

Here are a few of the fish pictures from our trip to Pine Sunset Lodge last week. It includes Randy's 33" and 36" northerns, and our largest walleye and smallmouth, and my 51" musky.

Each year we think that the previous year cannot be topped, but it seems there is a new exhilerating experience every year. This year we caught our share of walleyes, all by jigging with a twister tail or trolling with shad raps. Our largest one was 21".

We caught many small mouth this year, and some large perch. The largest small mouth picture is attached. We also caught some large northerns, 3 of them 33" and Randy's 36" (his 36" and one of his 33" are attached).

The hilite of the week was the 51" musky I caught Wednesday evening, within seeing distance of the camp dock (picture attached). It was caught on a shad rap while trolling for walleyes, 8# test with no leader!

Thanks to both of you for your friendship and excellent hospitality. We are already looking forward to next year.

I went to your website yesterday to see how you guys were doing and I was greeted with a brand new website. Very Cool! The video clip with Midwest Outdoors is awesome and so are the fishing and fish cleaning tips. I went to "This Summer's Photos" and was disappointed to see only pics of snow. I've spoken to a couple of people that just returned from a Canada fishing trip and they both said the fishing was slow due to the weather. I was happy to see six pics of my family still in the walleye photo album. I've said 3 or 4 times in the last couple of weeks that I wish we were headed up. Every fall I keep up with the bear and deer kill photos. Looks like Mitch has things figured out. Those deer are incredible.

Hope all is well up in camp. It's still hard to believe the weather we enjoyed the week we were up there. That might have been the best I have ever experienced up in Canada. Fishing was great as we caught so many Walleye over twenty inches. Here are a few pictures from this year. See you at the All Canada show in January.

We returned home safe and sound. The group enjoyed there stay. Even with the tough walleye bite we managed fish for dinner 4 times and returned with our limit. The exceptional smallmouth bite was great, we had one over 17 inches and many between 14 and 16. Thanks again for taking the time to show us how to y bone a northern, if I could catch them in Illinois I might actually learn. See you next September, hopefully the weather will be more like Fall.
