The Municipality of Machin is made up of 3 communities all situated on beautiful Eagle Lake, and just off of the Trans Canada Highway. Eagle River, Minnitaki, and Vermilion Bay are all located in the heart of the Patricia Region on the Trans Canada Highway. With a population of about 1200 people, tourism, forestry and mining are the main industries supporting these communities.

Community services available include shopping, restaurants, an ice arena, a recreation center, senior citizens activities, a medical clinic, Blue Lake Provincial Park which has 196 campsites, a volunteer fire department, public beaches for swimming, boating and fishing, cross-country ski trails, an airport and much, much more! If youre looking for an adventure, travel by boat to the soapstone quarry on Eagle Lake or visit Machin Park in Eagle River, which is the site of a former Hudson Bay Post and Northwest Fur Trading Post. Summertime activities include fishing, swimming, kayaking, ATVing and much more.

The many area lakes provide excellent fishing opportunities for walleye, northern pike, muskie, perch, trout, smallmouth bass and whitefish. The abundant forests make hunting for moose, deer, bear and grouse an experience to remember. There are many tourist outfitters in the area and whether you are looking for a drive-in, boat-in or fly-in lodge, you're sure to find one to suit your needs.
