Camp Lake St. Joseph is a boat-in camp with great walleye and northern pike fishing. Stay at one of our 6 cabin rentals that accommodate 4 to 8 guests.

Lake St. Joseph is the headwaters of the Albany River. It is one of the original inland routes of the Hudson bay Company fur traders. This Canadian lake is 80 miles long with thousands of islands and hundreds of bays, shoals, and weed beds surrounded by forested shores and no cottages. It provides the avid fisherman with that secluded fishing spot and ultimate success they have always dreamed of.

World Class Walleye and Northern fishing on legendary Lake St. Joseph. Housekeeping Log Cabins. The fishing is great on Lake St. Joseph at any time of the year! Lake St. Joseph provides some of the best fishing in NW Ontario.

7 Cabins for your stay

At Camp Lake St. Joseph, each housekeeping cabin comes equipped with Hot and cold running water,  A propane refrigerator and stove, Propane heater and lights, Propane barbeque in screened porch, Dishes, pots, pans and cutlery, Electric lights, Shower and sink. We use 16 foot lund boats with 20 HP Mercury motors, each boat has padded swivel seats, net, paddles, anchor, safety kit and life jackets. You have the option to upgrade to 16′ Lund SSV boat with 20 hp motor.

Maps/Directions

When you are driving up Hwy 599, you will see a sign for Camp Lake St Joseph about 1 km before the turn off to the landing. At the turnoff to the landing there is a sign for Camp Lake St Joseph indicating the left turn. Drive past the turn off about 1.5 miles. You will see Oz Lake Lodge on the right side of the highway. There is also a sign there for Oz Lake Lodge and Camp Lake St. Joseph parking. Go into the office and let them know you have arrived. They will call us and let us know. Then proceed back to the landing. By the time you get there, we will be on the way over to get you.

You may drive or fly

From Duluth, MN take 153 to International Falls, Hwy 11 east from Fort Francis to Hwy 502. Hwy 502 north to Dryden, east on Hwy 17 to Hwy 72, Hwy 72 to Sioux Lookout, then take Hwy 516 to Hwy599. Turn left on Hwy 599 and go north 75 miles to the camp landing.

Take Hwy 61 from Duluth, MN to Thunder Bay, ON then Hwy 17 west to Ignace. Turn north on Hwy 599 towards Pickle Lake, approx 150m to camp landing.

Fly to Thunder Bay and onto Pickle Lake by commercial airlines, or fly to Thunder Bay and drive in rental car.

Pickle Lake has a 5000′ paved airstrip, so personal aircraft may fly straight to the airport where they will be picked up for a 30 min. drive to the landing.
